In memoriam - Aaliyah

10 éve hunyt el Aaliyah tehetséges amerikai énekesnő, színésznő. 22 évesen egy videoklipforgatásról hazajövet érte a halál a Grammy díjast énekesnőt. Aaliyah a Rock da Boat című dalához forgatott klipet a Bahamákon, amikor is Cessna típusú repülőgépe Miami-ban landolt volna, ám a felemelkedés után 70 méteres magasságban a repülő irányíthatatlanná vált és lezuhant. A balesetet senki sem élte túl, a szerencsétlenségben heten haltak meg köztük a Virgin records vezetője is. Aaliyah koponyasérüléseibe és a baleset következtében elszenvedett égési sérüléseibe halt be.
2001. augusztus 31-én helyezték végső nyugalomra a tragikus sorsú szépséget, New York-ban.

Age aint nothing but a number címmel jelent meg debütáló lemeze 1995-ben, amelyről a legismertebb dal a BackandForth volt. A lemez munkálataiban Aaliyah mentora R.Kelly komoly szerepet vállalt. 1999-ben jelent meg második One in a Million című albuma, amelynek producerei voltak Missy Elliott és Timbaland. Erről a lemezről szólt a 4 page letter, vagy a Dr. Doolittle betétdal Are you that somebody is. Óriási sikert aratott az ő főszereplésével készült film az Öld meg Rómeót betétdala a Try again, amelynek hangszerelésében is részt vett. A dal a Billboard Hot100 listájának élére került, számos díjat zsebelt be a videó és Grammy jelölést hozott Aaliyah-nak. 1,5 millió példányban adták el a kislemezt.
Halála előtt nem sokkal adták ki Aaliyah című harmadik és utolsó lemezét, melyen együtt dolgozott Static Major-ral, Timbaland-del, Missy Eliott-tal. A lemez Grammy jelölést is kapott. Olyan slágerek kerültek fel a korongra, mint a Revolution, More than a woman, Rock tha boat. 2004-ben adták ki az újracsomagolt verziót, amelyre felkerültek korábban sosem hallott dalok is, mint a Miss you vagy a Don't know what to tell ya.

Ma, Aalyah halálnak 10 éves évfordulóján megbolydult a twitter közösség, #WeLoveuAaliyah taggel számtalan bejegyzés olvasható a közösségi oldalon. Mások mellett Missy Eliott is megemlékezett Aaliyah-ról: "Aaliyah már jó helyen vagy! A zenéd időtlen! Nagyon hiányzol nekünk."

It was 10 years ago when the multi talented beauty passes away, r’n b singer Aaliyah died in 2001. 25. August. She filmed a video for her song Rock da Boat on the Bahamas, when her plane crashed. Nobody survived the crash, Aaliyah and 7 others died. According to the coroners report, the songstress died because of her brain injuries and burns.

Her funeral was held in New York in 2001. 31. August. 

Aaliyah’s debut album called Age aint nothing but a number, released in 1995. The most famous song of the album was Back and Forth. R. Kelly was her mentor and also the producer of the album. Second album of Aaliyah was released in 1999. titled as One in a million. Most known tracks of the album are 4 page letter, Are you that somebody. Missy Elliott and Timbaland worked with Aaliyah on this album. 

After this she filmed Romeo must die and she co-produced the soundtrack Try again. The song topped Billboard Hot100, Aaliyah received Grammy nomination and the single was sold over 1,5 million copies. 

Before her tragic death she released self-titled third and last album, she had artists on the record like Timbaland, Static Major and Missy. The album received Grammy nomination. Most popular songs of Aaliyah are More than a woman, Revolution, Rock tha Boat. After Aaliyah’s death the album were repacked, and released in 2004. New songs also were posted on the repack, which no one has ever heard before. Like: Don’t know what to tell ya or Miss you.

Today, ten years after Aaliyah’s tragic death the twitter community terpided, with the tag #WeLoveuAaliyah hundreds posted on the site, also Missy Elliott, she wrote: „Aaliyah til this very day u r still in Your own Lane! Ure music is Timeless! We miss u!”
